About Aretha Reimagined

Aretha Reimagined is a live tribute built around interpretation, musicianship, and respect for the catalog of Aretha Franklin. The show is designed as a complete performance experience, focusing on the strength of the songs and the traditions they come from rather than physical impersonation or replication.

Aretha Reimagined draws from gospel, soul, jazz, and R&B to present the music in a way that feels grounded, intentional, and alive in the room. Arrangements are shaped to serve the material, allowing each song space to breathe while maintaining momentum and connection with the audience.

The result is a tribute that honors Aretha Franklin’s legacy by letting the music stand on its own — familiar, powerful, and deeply resonant — while offering audiences an evening that feels thoughtful, dynamic, and unmistakably live.

who we are

A woman with dark skin and voluminous dreadlocked hair styled to one side, wearing a black leather jacket and a layered gold chain necklace. She has hoop earrings, a nose piercing, and shiny lip gloss, striking a confident pose with her hand resting on her chin against a dark brown background.

Lead Artist

Tasha Montfort is the lead artist for Aretha Reimagined, with over 30 years in the Philadelphia music scene. Rooted in gospel, her voice is shaped by tradition, bringing power and restraint without imitation. On stage, she connects with audiences immediately through a sense of honesty and presence that fills the room. Having spent years immersed in Aretha Franklin’s music because it resonates deeply with her as an artist, that connection comes through naturally in performance, allowing the songs to speak clearly, respectfully, and with emotional weight.
